To silence a chat member and delete that chat member public messages, use the chat command /silence. Once you are ready to silence a chat member, enter the chat command in the chat message text field and hit enter.

/silence bob Ciao bye!

Silence chat command can be effected by:
broadcast host (creator)
chat moderators
