Tips, tricks, and things to know

What should my framerate be?
You can stream up to 60 fps. 30 fps is suggested for most cases.

Bitrate, what is that?
Bitrate is the number of bits per second your video will be encoded at. The higher the bitrate, the better quality the video encoding will be. While streaming a live video, the bitrate is limited by the available upload speed. The bitrate should not be higher than 70% of the upload speed capacity. If available, we suggest to use the variable bitrate option.

Speed test | →

For example, if your upload speed is 5 Mbps (5,000 Kbps) and do not want to saturate your connection, choose a bitrate under your upload speed capacity.

A good rule of thumb is to set your bitrate to 70% of your upload speed capacity. If your upload speed is 5 Mbps (5,000 Kbps), 70% is 3.5 Mbps (3,500 Kbps).

Suggested bitrate ranges

Resolution: 640x360
Video bitrate range: 400 - 1,000 Kbps

Resolution: 960x540
Video bitrate range: 600 - 2,000 Kbps

Resolution: 1280x720
Video bitrate range: 1,500 - 4,000 Kbps

Resolution: 1920x1080
Video bitrate range: 3,000 - 6,000 Kbps

Resolution: 3840x2160
Video bitrate range: 12,000 - 25,000 Kbps

When mobile streaming how can I see the chat?
When mobile streaming you will need a second device to see the chat! There are no encoder mobile application that currently has integrated Nood chat.
